Leora Child Safety Standards
Last Updated: 20 April 2026
Our commitment
Leora Dating Ltd has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform. We comply with all applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions we operate in, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and US 18 U.S.C. § 2258A reporting obligations to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Who can use Leora
Leora is a dating service for adults aged 18 and over. We enforce this through:
- An age declaration at sign-up.
- Identity verification during onboarding. Every new user uploads a photograph of a biometric identity document that shows their face, full legal name, and date of birth. Our trust & safety team reviews each submission to confirm the user's date of birth before any account is approved.
- No access to platform content (browsing, discovery, matches, or messaging) until a user has a verified, approved account.
- Ongoing review of accounts flagged by users or our moderation systems.
We will permanently remove any account belonging to a user under 18 and will not retain their data beyond what is required to comply with our legal reporting obligations.
What is prohibited
The following are strictly prohibited on Leora and will result in immediate account removal and, where required, reporting to law enforcement:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Sexualised content depicting or appearing to depict any person under 18.
- Grooming, solicitation, or sextortion of minors.
- Accounts operated by anyone under 18.
- Sharing of contact details or media that could endanger a minor.
How to report
Inside the app: every profile and conversation includes a Report option. Select the Underage user or Inappropriate content reason and add any details. Reports are received by our Child Safety team.
By email: anyone, including law enforcement, NGOs, and members of the public, can contact us at childsafety@leoradating.co.uk.
In an emergency where a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (UK: 999, US: 911), then notify us.
How we respond
- Suspected CSAM reports are triaged within 2 hours by our Child Safety Lead.
- Other underage reports are triaged within 24 hours.
- Evidence is preserved before any account action so it remains available for law enforcement.
- Confirmed CSAM is reported to the relevant authority within 24 hours:
- Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) for UK-hosted content.
- NCMEC CyberTipline for any US-nexus content (legally required under US law).
- CEOP (UK National Crime Agency) for UK-based offenders or victims.
- The relevant INHOPE hotline for other EU jurisdictions.
- Offending accounts are permanently disabled and associated devices blocked where possible.
Designated child safety contact
The Child Safety Lead is responsible for compliance with this policy and for liaising with law enforcement and child protection agencies. This role is currently held by our Chief Technology Officer. Contact: childsafety@leoradating.co.uk.
Updates
We review these standards at least every six months and after any reportable incident. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
